The Interview Show

Sat 12 Sep 2026 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

The global launchpad into medical school interview season.

For Medicine & Dentistry applicants - and their parents.

Back for its sixth year. Trusted by thousands of aspiring doctors, dentists and families around the world.

You have spent months trying to get the interview.

Now you need to know what happens when you actually sit in front of the people making the decision.

  • What are interviewers really looking for?
  • Why do some academically brilliant candidates still underperform?
  • What separates an answer that sounds “good” from one that actually impresses an interviewer?
  • What do the people assessing future doctors notice that applicants are rarely told?

That is exactly why we created The Interview Show.

Most applicants only ever see one side of the table.

Interview preparation is often taught by people who have successfully been through the admissions process themselves.

That perspective is valuable.

But it is only one side of the interview.

At The Interview Show, you will also learn from medical school interviewers, senior doctors, clinical educators and healthcare leaders who have been involved in assessing candidates and selecting and developing the future medical workforce.

Successful applicants tell you what worked.

Interviewers tell you what they actually saw.

That combination is what makes The Interview Show different.

Led by Dr Masood Ahmed

The 2026 Interview Show will be led by Dr Masood Ahmed, Chair of Medology and one of the most senior leaders in global healthcare.

His career has included:

Former NHS Chief Medical Officer
Former Global Medical Director at Dell
Lecturer at UCL
Mentor at the University of Oxford

He will be joined by medical school interviewers and clinicians including Dr Wasima Mandal, alongside successful applicants who have recently navigated the process themselves.

This is not simply advice about what somebody did in their own interview.

It is an opportunity to understand how the people on the other side of the table think.

The things applicants are rarely told.

During The Interview Show, we will unpack:

  • What medical and dental school interviewers are actually assessing
  • What happens when your answer is being scored and discussed
  • The difference between an average, good and exceptional response
  • Why rehearsed answers can sometimes hurt rather than help
  • The mistakes candidates repeatedly make without even realising
  • What makes an interviewer trust and remember a candidate
  • How successful applicants approach ethics, communication, motivation and judgement
  • What interviewers notice about the way you think, not simply what you say
  • The things applicants spend hours worrying about that may matter far less than they think
  • How to structure your preparation over the weeks ahead
  • The interview advice that sounds clever online - but does not necessarily translate into a better performance

And throughout the event, you will hear perspectives from both sides of the table.

For students: start properly.

You do not need to wait until an interview invitation lands before beginning.

The strongest applicants use this period to understand what is coming, identify their weaknesses and gradually develop the communication, judgement and confidence that interviews demand.

Whether you already have an interview, are waiting to hear back, or have not started preparing at all:

The Interview Show is designed to be your starting point.

You should leave knowing:

what interviewers want, what excellent performance looks like, what you need to work on, and what to do next.

For parents: understand the process too.

If your son or daughter is applying to Medicine or Dentistry, you are very welcome to attend.

You do not need to know anything about MMIs, admissions scoring or medical education beforehand.

We will help parents understand:

  • How medical and dental school interviews work
  • What universities are trying to assess
  • What good interview preparation should actually involve
  • When students should begin preparing
  • What useful practice looks like
  • How parents can support without creating additional pressure
  • What the next few months of the admissions process may look like

For many families, medical admissions can feel like an unfamiliar world.

This event is designed to make it much clearer.

Six years of The Interview Show.

Since 2021, The Interview Show has marked the beginning of interview season at Medology.

Over that time, Medology has supported thousands of aspiring healthcare professionals globally through our education, mentorship and live programmes.

Each year, The Interview Show brings together applicants and families for one of the biggest moments in our calendar.

And in 2026, we are taking it global.

Toronto. London. Dubai. Kuala Lumpur. Sydney.

Different countries.

Different admissions systems.

One ambition:

to become an exceptional future doctor.

This is not your entire interview preparation.

It is something more important.

It is where your preparation starts.

You will not leave with another folder of generic interview notes.

You will leave understanding the game you are actually playing - from the people who have succeeded in it and the people responsible for assessing it.

Then the work begins.
